When a timing chain snaps or a head gasket blows, the cylinder head takes the absolute brunt of the abuse. If your original head is warped beyond tolerances, deeply scored, or cracked, you need a replacement that is actually flat and ready to work. We supply genuine, structurally sound OEM castings so you can rebuild your engine with total confidence.

This is a genuine BMW B47 cylinder head. We have had the mating surface professionally skimmed (resurfaced) to ensure it is completely flat and ready to accept a brand new head gasket. It is supplied exactly as pictured, a bare aluminium casting with the 16 valves still seated in the block, but without the camshafts or carrier ladder (which we sell separately).

Every cylinder head on our Coventry workbench is rigorously checked. Alongside the resurfacing, we visually inspect the casting for deep heat cracks between the valve seats and ensure the coolant channels are structurally intact. It is a proper, heavy-duty piece of metal ready to be built up and dropped straight onto your block.

Workshop Note: as this head has been skimmed, ensure you select the correct thickness of head gasket (denoted by the factory holes/notches) to maintain proper compression ratios and valve clearances.
